I do apologize for the gap in updates lately. We have had a lot of life going on. I have had so many people say they wish they could pare down there stuff and do what we are doing and I am grateful for the support we have received. I would like to also be honest and share that this has not been easy by any means. While we are very motivated to do what God has led us to do, we could not do it without his intervention. The first steps in paring down is loosing the attachment to stuff. For some that is the hardest part and for others they have never had that struggle. My husband and I have come to realize we no longer want to be held captive by our stuff. Children are not so easily persuaded to agree with this belief. This process has probably been hardest on our oldest son. Although he has been very excited to see how our house is coming along, his belongings are very important to him at this age. The amount of changes that have and still are taking place have also been a struggle for him. He has been a trooper and we as a family have grown so much through this. We work as a family to figure out solutions through all the challenges we face. God has blessed us so much. We usually think of blessings as getting something but for us, losing things have been the greatest blessing and freedom for our family. We still have too much stuff and we are still working on preparing to move but we know we serve a Mighty God who is able to see us to the end. He is faithful!
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:9 KJV
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
